FAQ

1. How are StaClear syringes different from standard syringes?

StaClear syringes are coated with TriboLink-Si® – a patented coating process that fixes silicone oil onto the syringe barrel. Each lot of StaClear syringes is tested for USP<789> compliance to ensure low levels of particles. Hence, StaClear syringes combine the well-established lubricant characteristics of silicone without the inherent risks from using liquid silicone oil.

2. How is StaClear different from silicone-free syringes?

StaClear syringes feature a 3-part design with a rubber piston. Although not silicone-free, the silicone oil is crosslinked and immobilized to reduce particle generation, making it suitable for sensitive applications like ophthalmic injections.

In contrast, silicone-free syringes typically use a plastic piston and oleamide wax, which can result in less precise dosing and stiffer plunger movement. StaClear delivers superior control and performance vis-a-vis silicone-free syringes with reduced particles for precise injections.

Generic Syringe with tons of particulates on the left, StaClear Syringe with fewer particulates on the right. StaClear has 100x fewer particles than generic syringes lubricated with silicone oil.
